A good title sequence according to Kyle Cooper
Kyle Cooper is one of the most famous directors and designers of film title sequences. He is most famous for producing the title sequence of Spider-Man, Dawn of the dead, Superman returns and Se7en. According to Kyle Cooper a good title sequence 'sets an expectation', it should make you feel totally engaged and glued to your seat. It should make you feel really excited and should give you the feeling that you dont want to be anywhere else in that moment of time. The type of film should add to the overall affect of the film as so done in the film Se7en. The first title sequence that made a big impression on Kyle Cooper was the 'Dead Zone' by David Cronenberg. This is is because he felt the typography was very simple, the music was great and it played out over time and overall it was very mysterious. Kyle Cooper feels the reason why this had a huge impression on him at that point was because his interest in film and typography at the time could be a source of another vocation. Some of his favourite title sequences are 'to kill a mocking bird' and 'Take a walk on the wild side' as he felt the typography was very integrated and it had a beautiful contrast. Lastly it takes into consideration the background shot. One of my favourite title sequences by Kyle Cooper is Dawn of the dead which you can see blow.
